The ambassador to China spent eight years on the Indo-Sino desk in New Delhi. During that time, he was responsible for compiling all historical detail of India's relations with China. He says there is a need to flatten out complexity and make places legible by mapping them. But at the same time, he dealt with bilateral issues such as trade between two countries.
