Is Your Identity Attached to Your Work?
For me, it started attaching my identity to the musician. Graham was a rock star. That was the dream, get a record deal. And when it didn't happen, and i had to wake up to the reality, i got go get a job now. It felt like my life ended. I'm still in counselling for, like, it comes up in my councelling sessions,. Like, dude, i'm still suffering from the repercussions of that. The moment you can separate it even a bit, you've a little bit more freedom to try something that could fail, and that's ok, because you're not a failure. There's no such thing as 'aunch burn
