The Impact of Air Pollution on Health

If you live in an area with high levels of fine particulate matter for just one year, it would be the equivalent of smoking 150 cigarettes. Particles less than 2.5 micrometers pose the greatest risk to our health. The majority of air pollution's health impact is coming from burning fossil fuels. According to a recent study, if the United States stopped burning fossil fuels, we could prevent 50,000 premature deaths due to air pollution.
