King Charles II fell ill in February of 1685. The physicians treating the king released publicly to demonstrate how much effort they put into trying to save him. He vomited and was given a series of enemas. Plasters of chemical irritants, including pigeon droppings, were applied to the soles of the royal feet for falling humer's. And unsurprisingly, four days later, the King Charles II died.
