Theology in the State of a Divided Church
"I don't think the doctrine of scripture changes. That is to say, what scripture is, what it's for, how the church should receive it," he says. "All a theologian can do in the state of a divided church is to write as best he or she can on behalf of the one church." He adds that even reformed people have to look at divisions since the sixteenth ntury as a theological problem.
