The Importance of Emotional Stake in Music
Matthew Morrison: St. Elmo's Fire is just, you know, it's four chords just on repeat that just becomes this siren of pure emotion. I have a hard time not getting a little bit touched every single time I hear that song. He says he has thought about the idea of generative music and other techniques that can be used to bypass this accrual of all these things that become habits. Morrison: There is something nice about having this sort of weight removed in the composition process for you to allow yourself to be technically minded.
