The Difference Between a Grandmaster and a Beginner

The difference between a grandmaster and a beginner is largely actually what moves they consider. A grandmaster will tend to initially hypothesize moves, which are actually really good moves. And then they just decide which among those moves are the ones they're going to play. But that's almost the definition of a good chess player, somebody who chooses good moves when it's their turn.
