"I wasn't a disrespectful kid. I just, I wanted it so bad," Kip says of his stepfather's reaction to him saying he was not going to be the starting quarterback at Poway High School in San Diego. "My dad basically raised us, raised us on his own and my mom had her, she had my little brother and sister down in San Diego." He adds: "We didn't grow up. We didn't have any, we didn't have my dad ... So I was like, how am I going to make it? I want to buy, I want to be a pro football player?"
