Cricket in state schools is virtually non-existent. It requires dedicated teachers and a playing field. And it is dominated by those who go to private and public schools. I think there is a geographical divide. But the fundamental issue is that if you have money and go to a school where they have a lovely cricket pitch, then you are much more likely to be able to succeed.
