The Washington Declaration: A Quid Pro Quo
John Defterios: escalation to both deter and assure. Washington has agreed to set up a so-called nuclear consultative group, which is designed to enhance coordination of nuclear deterrence planning. In return for this establishment of a group, South Korea has agreed to reaffirm its commitment to the NPT regime. 70% plus of South Korean public opinion supports the idea of going independent. And there's been a number of suggestions that obviously South Korea is a major producer of artillery ammunition in Ukraine.
