The Exuberance of 2009-2010

There's a lot of exuberance about potentially more companies that thought of themselves as sort of like foreign companies with not very large data sets. Maybe you wouldn't need an expensive oracle or other relational database license in order to do large-scale statistical analysis maybe there was an open-source solution and all you needed was developers who were really good at Java. But then people realize man that is a hassle and the problems are the same in all companies so sure enough eventually Amazon had its own solutions and Google has its own solutions.
