Marketing is in service to the customer, but they're also in service therest of the organization. Too many times marketing is a step behind and two steps away from what is actually going on. And so they need to get out of the building. Have to talk to customers. Don't don't assume before you have that conversation what's needed. Oh, well, we need a brocure. Why are you sure do youn how do you know who wants a brosure, you know? And howis it going to be used? You know. So maybe something like the picture book might be way more effective than anything else.

Customer feedback lacks two fundamental pieces of information: context and behavior. Traditional methods of insight, like the Net Promoter Score (NPS) and customer feedback surveys have their limitations. Andrea Belk Olson, our guest on this episode, challenges organizations to adopt a different approach to customer behavior by delving into the WHY and the WHAT, then coming up with a WOW hypothesis - a 3 step process called the 3W Ideation.
