The Importance of Old English

We had to recite some like segment of like a sonnet or something, but use Old English. And it was the most humbling thing ever because we just go around the class and each person would have to say their line. I couldn't understand anything going on in that book. What was that one book? Absalom?Absalom? Oh my gosh. It made no sense. You know what I realized is that if we were like transported back to like the Victorian era or something, then like half of what we say wouldn't make sense. That's kind of how it works.
