A Brief History of Gueyipoyi

The peasants of Gueyipoyi collectivized the enormous estates of the wealthy and started forming farming communes, each of around 200 people. Communal life was seen by Machno as the highest form of social justice. Some landowners even came around to the idea and joined communes.
