The Importance of Background Checks
Goldman Sachs has been fined $215,000,000 for failing to do background checks on prospective employees. The fine is a fraction of what Goldman's net earnings would be if the bank had done its job properly. On the other side of the fence, you've got Mod Pizza who are doing background checks and hiring people with criminal records so that they can fill positions faster. "If you take care of your people first, and that's job one, then the revenue, if you've got a great model, the revenue is going to come," he says.
