The Pros and Cons of a Solo Design Role

When you go into a company that has no design knowledge and no designers, then it really becomes up to the designer to create the design culture almost. And for me, it was like, well, I'm not ready to educate other people about design because this is my first role ever. A lot of people think they're going to be working on the UI the entire time. But just like you said, your job is to lead the team and build that maturity, build that UX maturity up.
