The Criticism of Economists

The big criticism about economists, especially in the past decade, has had was how did you guys miss the single biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression? We need to have something like a National Weather Service for financial crises. There's no doubt that the economics profession has been indelibly altered by the events of the past 10 years. And I think we're sort of taking that to heart and trying not to be overly enamored with data.
