The Future of Apprenticeship
Switzerland has a very robust apprenticeship program, something on the order of 70% of all teens in Switzerland are part of this apprenticeship program. And so they have a very robust system where the upshot is that you don't have people who are in debt. So we could just try to replicate that in the United States. I think culturally it's hard because we denigrate the trades here. But even without that, I do think the apprenticeship journeyman model could be applied to a lot of things, including like the most abstruse, highfalutin areas of science.
