The Hittites and the Misoneans in Mesopotamia
The hittite kingdom was centered on the city of hatusa, located northwest in anatolia. At its height, it encompassed the majority of modern day turkey, and also stretched down to the coast roughly to where the border of modern day lebanon is. It has been suggested that famine had struck the kingdom due to a series of failed crops. The selective pattern of destruction over a period of several decades also continued further south along the coast, heading towards egypt.
