People are generally very curious about what you're eating and why and how. It's almost easier with diet, because most people want the specifics. What's really important about this technique is that you find this kind of middle ground where you're giving them enough information that they want to follow along and fill in the gaps. If children aren't curious, they're not likely to learn. They'll just memorizem.
