The Promise of the New Covenant

First covenant had power to expose sin, but not the power to free people from it. Second reason was that sacrifices could never make perfect those who drew near. All these sacrifices effectually did was remind sinners of their wretched, inescapable, sinful state. The new covenant meal is a remembrance of the once-for-all new covenant sacrifice Jesus made for us.
