In 1986 she makes Mary Riley and Michael Collins. Which is a bid I think to shed her America's sweetheart kind of identity or at least refine it and make herself a serious actor. Now all of these movies, these three movies that we're talking about here are made by really interesting filmmakers. She plays sort of like the house servant in the home of Dr. Jekyll and bears witness to the transformations that are taking place.
