Exploring the Origins of Elixir

In this chapter, they discuss the language Elixir and its origins. They explain that Elixir was created because one of the main people in the Ruby ecosystem was dissatisfied with Ruby's performance, concurrency, and networking model. Elixir was designed to have the syntax and composability of Ruby, but it compiles to and runs on the powerful Erlang ecosystem.
