The West Wing: A Classy TV Show
Brownie: The show is so ludicrously off the wall in comparison to real diplomacy. I think it is all the dressing around it that is a bit jarring, including the sort of soap opera relationship between the two ambassadors. There is a weird game of telephone tennis in the first episode, where they are not taking calls because the protocol is wrong for them to take that call at that moment. Is that realistic? Can't? Brownie: It is far, far, far to the right at the Designated Survivor end, which means that it is really trashy, really hooverable.
