I think we often do ourselves a disservice when we assume malintent. Silican valley, for all its faults, is full of true idealists as well. I agree with hasu that you can't plausibly launch something new and not have the capital to go compete. But at the same time, does the fact that Capital comes with its own set of strings undermine anything new? This is the purest bit coin or take, and it's not unconvincing.
