I think at some point, it's really more about bottlenecks. My job is always to remove myself as a bottleneck. As a leader of developers, maybe I'm the bottleneck for some decision making. But if I'm a leader of team leads, then what is my role? How do I measure? The answer again to me is what is the thing that they need me for? Do they needs me for specific planning purposes? Because I see something farther into the future and want to help them there. That's my bottleneck theory. I want to removed myself as bottleneck. No one can hire, doesn't make any sense. You should be able to hire people.
