Sally Kohn: I'm constantly learning voraciously in all sorts of directions. For me personally, the thought of sitting in a classroom where a teacher is talking at me about irrelevant stuff for six hours a day, I would so need to be medicated or run away screaming. When one has the ability to direct one's own attention towards a goal and realizes the kind of rate of learning that's possible - you compare that to 13 years of K-12 education. She says having a goal outside the schooling system does not mean a lack of rigor.
