The History of the JFK Administration
The CIA was actually interestingly involved in the assassination of through he'll after the US supported him. It just goes to show how right wing the US Empire is and how even someone like JFK, who's certainly not what you consider to be significantly on the left, he's still too left wing for the political establishment. So they're interesting historical echoes there. But so what was the JFK administration's policy in terms of this idea of creating a so-called decent democratic regime? Well, he ends up doing something very strange in the history of US foreign policy.
