The Importance of Intrigue in Writing

There's no magic spark of motivation igniting the scene and driving it forward. The dialogue is also bollocks which is a trap we all fall into. You're allowed to write about real life in fiction but that doesn't mean you've got a license to replicate all the boring parts as if doing so grants the work serious gritty fidelity. If two people are just exchanging banal functional pleasantries you'd sure as shit better make sure one of them is an android sent from the future to assassinate the other.
