The Kingdom of the Netherlands - A Constitutional Monarchy

The constitution of the netherlands was passed in July 18 15, just about a month after waterloo. The members of the upper house would all be appointed by the king and the lower house only had limited opportunities to actually participate in government. Mostly power concentrated in the executive branch, the king and his ministers who would rule the whole country from the capital in amsterdam. In practice, if you were catholic, you were not going to get very far in politics.
