You Are Good
The Pressure of Growing Up in a Chinese Family
The movie really captures the pressure of growing up in a Chinese immigrant family. In Asian families, like the moms and daughters never say I love you and I'm sorry. Like they communicate it through food or through arguing or through nagging. And there's a lot done in silence. You have to kind of realize that their best hopes for you are not going to maybe be the things that make you happy as a daughter.
