i see the same thing happen with like, physique athletes all the time. They set outcome goals that were within the same general ganre as when they first went to the gim. But over time, they're, like, intermediate outcome goals drifted pretty far away from what the ultimate thing they cared about was and theultimate thing they wanted to accomplish. And so i think one of the benefits of having a clear superordinant goal is it helps you make sure that the actual actions you're taking are still in service of that thing you ultimately care about.
