I think there's a really interesting discussion to be had about the gunhoe utilitarian view and the gunhoe stoic view or virtues ethics. The strength of utilitarianism, so when we're talking about women and slaves and animals, etc., isn't it forces us to take that view? Although Marx or race and other Stoics talk about benevolence is part of part of the virtue. It doesn't really prioritize it. And it's very much within that, what are your roles? What are your duties? There's also, I think it's worth mentioning, a lovely parallel between Stoicism and something that Peter Singer's written.
