Theodore vale was describing network effects, but there wasn't a fancy name for it. The most valuable networks do not own the underlying asset that is ging hands. Launching a new start up in these markets is actually really difficult. It has never been easier to build a product, because of the acceleration of technology and low cost of building any new product.
