The Evolution of Growth Rates in Coral Reef Fishes

The idea came from 30 years of coral reef research looking into fish and trying to think when did they start to grow fast? Not funny enough, what we found was that it started to grow fast at a different time than we had originally thought. And so we were expecting to find this about 20 million years ago where there's a lot of diversification across coral reef fishes. We actually found it between 50 and 60 million years ago.
