The Fall of Cabo
It took about ten days for the country to fall. You mention, before that it wasn't clear when the fir city schame under telepment control of the s was going to end with the fall of cabo. I guess the mistake that i and perhaps others made was to say, wel well, those are rule areas, and so they're not going to be able to take over major cities. And even as other cities fell, the governmentand the ssecurity sector indicated that this was part of a strategy to consolidate forces major metropolitan areas rather than smaller provincial capitals. So we discounted those cities falling. And so, you know, we discounted until the very and until cabel itself
Ajmal Ahmady is the former Governor of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, Da Afghanistan Bank, and the latest guest on the Value Perspective. Juan and Emily had the opportunity to talk with Ajmal about the work he accomplished during his tenure including inflation stabilisation and digitised money wallet. They also discussed decision making as a central bank during times of crisis and conflict, including how the DAB made decisions as the Taliban encroached towards the capital.
