The Life and Legacy of Carl G. Maiser
Carl Maiser joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany. In 1875, Brigham Young asked Carl to start a church school in Provo,. He sometimes had to accept garden vegetables from student families as tuition payment. A permanent structure and home for Brigham Young Academy would not be completed for 17 years.
