The Moral Implications of the Death Penalty
A person's right to his or her life arises from the fact that the person is human. From a moral perspective, the state can only take a person's life when that person's living comes into conflict with another person's inalienable right. There is no moral justification for taking the person's life. Why then are we one of only two major developed countries to allow capital punishment? This is why laws should be based on logic, not emotion.
