Tierre's History of the French Revolution

Tierra's history of the french revolution is now considered the founding text of french revolutionary historiography. He praised the enlightened principles of liberal nobility like his new friend and patron, lafayette. And he thrashed guys like mara and robespierre for being bloodthirsty extremists who wrecked everything. Tierre himself wrote a hugely popular article that popularized the essential aphorism: The king rules, but he does not govern.
