The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith and Adam Smith
The wealth of nations is written in modern day English but it does seem like it's written for the individual and you don't need a philosophy degree to understand this book. I feel like a lot of the points in it are relatively simple they're based on a very deep understanding maybe they're not on first principles of physics and materials and whatnot, but it's very close to when he says a statement there's not much further you can dig down into it and go oh but why but why. So I felt it was actually a good book for understanding those sorts of things even if I personally couldn't understand it directly from the text. It's somewhat of an obligation for each person to decide
