Gibson Les Paul Jr.

In 1939, Les Paul came up with an idea for his own electric guitar design. It was a 4x4 piece of pine with two wings attached to it to make it look like a Spanish guitar. He went on to invent sound on sound recording, which is what we now call multi-track recording. But he's most remembered for the guitar that bears his name, a guitar by Gibson.
