optimism is our tendency to overestimate the likelihood of positive events happening in our life and underestimate the likelihood of a negative for example. Tally has the stats on how many of us are optimists. The majority of individuals have an optimism bias. Another ten % tend to have a pessimistic bias. And i would say that optimism is actually a thriving research area.
