Jay-Z's idea for high school juries to be the final content moderators of political ads online is even more brilliant than I thought. The kids brought to this assignment a whole lot of savvy and energy, and those are brought in extraordinary capacity to look beyond their own views to think about the needs of everyone, the public. In this test run, they'd set high standards, clear standards, hard rules. They challenged one another. Maybe our civic institutions still work.
