How to Approach the Complexity of Things
I think I probably had a vague idea that by now I'd be a poet or novelist. The fact that I didn't write poetry probably held me back on the first of its own. And actually I'm more pleased I'm doing what I'm doing because it seems to me at any rate that at the moment nonfiction is where it's at. We're not particularly in an era which is demanding odes and sonnets, but although my novelist friends always hate it when I say that.
