Is Decentralization a Good Idea?
iamy: decentralization has gotten such cachet, because i think it does speak to a desire among a lot of people for an internet that is more within their control. You know, there is a sense that it's just being controlled by executives that are very far away, like mark suckeberg. So i think its, you know, to the extent that we can acknowledge the validity of some of sentiments that have produced the desire, while also trying to steer people away from some of the so called solutions that, as you point out, will make the problems worse.
