Dancing Plagues and Mass Hysteria
Mass hysteria, oftentimes there was some underlying medical cause. But a lot of times too, it was people following the lead of those who were maybe faking. Now we're talking 200 people in this German town, Erfurt, not quite Stucard, but still very German. And another outbreak happens in 1374. This one is the one we teased earlier, multiple like dozens of towns along the Rhine River. The epidemic went on unchecked for months.
