Aquinas' Test for Analogies - God Is Identical to Wisdom
Aquinas: When we say that god is wise, we mean that wisdom is identical to god. We clearly don't mean that when we say that socrates is wise. On aquinass own test for analogy, this pair of statements turns out to be univical. It's true of god, but false of the creature. Even if god's emotions are analogical, whatever that would mean, god will still be moved and influenced by things external to himself. And that is exactly what passibility says. So nothing about analogical language pushes us anywhere near impassibility.
