C and C++ can still serve a purpose in an elixir system. The difference is, you start shifting areas of what's the right tool for the right job. For example, if you need to go working with drivers in the Linux kernel or stuff like that because nerves is based on embedded Linux at the end of the day. All of that stuff is still written in C. And does it make sense to convert that to a lixar? No, it doesn't.
