Shankara and Gaudapada
Shankara is credited with founding four major centers of Hindu worship, taking a leaf from Buddhist monastic practices. The individual soul that finally gives up its ignorance and accepts the true reality of Brahman is like a weary carpenter who lays down his tools or a tired falcon that finally alights to rest. Shankara was being heavily criticized by other Vedantans including another major commentator on the Vedanta-Sutra named Bhaskara.
