Aortic Regurgitation - What's the Mechanism?

Prolapse of the right or sometimes the non-cornerate aortic valve cusp. Over time that can result in the development of aortic regurgitation. The ACCAJ guidelines published in 2018 allow us to think through a flow chart of how we manage ventricular subtle defects, particularly with aortic Regurgitation. VSD patients may have a slightly increased risk of endocarditis. AV canal defects are common form of congenital heart disease in down syndrome people.
